I am totally and utterly obsessed with this song and this video. I'm really loving these guys. Had the pleasure of seeing them perform in Joburg last month, I am most definitely going to make my way to a music store to buy me some good South African Music. And some hot bassist guy.
If you don't live in Joburg, my sincerest apologies.
I took these pics last week at the latest exhibition by Zimbabwean artist, Kudzanai Chiurai titled State of the Nation. The opening was in Newtown but the exhibition has since moved to Goodman Gallery at Arts on Main. The whole of Joburg came out (I even spotted William Kentridge) for this lauded and exiled young man's sometimes spiritual sometimes violent and fervently physical exploration into Africa's past and present. It's a pity most of the people that were there probably can't afford to buy paintings for R95 000.
It was worth it. The cherry on top was a moving performance by Thandiswa Mazwai and half of the Blk Jks Mpumi Mcata and Tshepang Ramoba as well as musician, restaurateur, artist and generally cool dude João Orecchia
Mad Women
These are not the best images of them but they will do. As I said in my welcome note, I am obfrikkinsessed with Mad Men and most notably, Betty, Peggy and Joan. I found these pictures in Glamour UK.
