My First Victims

So the other day I was totally inspired by Le Coil to start doing Jhb Street Style shots.  I went to Rosebank Mall  or Mal as Jenny Chrwys-Williams calls it, because I had to go and pay a bill at Telkom. I took my camera just to see if I could capture some people while there and unfortunately the shy in miss milli took over and I could not go up to people to ask them for pics, but also because there were like 0 people who I wanted to take pics of. So right there and then I decided, I am not going to be a Mall Style photographer, it will have to be on the street.  Here are my first victims. Can't wait to get to Jhb CBD.

Our New Neighbours

The shop next to Mememe Joburg has been unoccupied since we opened in April and we've always said, the day something opens there, please don't let it be a carpet and tile shop or like a shop with ugly things.  Our prayers were answered because the new shop is rightfully called In Good Company, and has some really really beautiful things to fill your house and life with.  

They sell decor ornaments, party paraphernalia and knick knacks which you can either buy or hire or just go there to ogle.  The ladies that own and work there are very sweet and invited me to their launch on the 13th of August.  They are still waiting for their sign to be put up so when next you come to visit us at 54 6th Street, make sure you don't miss 52 6th Street, Parkhurst.

Reasons to start doing Jhb Street Style shots

I came across a website called Le Coil full of beautiful black people from all over the world. Oh my god, it goes on forever. It's a collection of hot Africans taken from different sources like Face Hunter, The Sartorialist and others. I saw they used the Doreen Southwood Summer range pics I posted on their blog.

I think I'm going to start doing this today. I usually feel awkward asking people for their picture because I hate getting my pic taken but seriously, I think I will put the stupid fear aside and just do it. We also have hot people afterall.
