ANISA'S NEW SHOP

This is something good.  Anisa Mpungwe of label Loin Cloth and Ashes, is opening her first store on 1 July.  It's going to be in the Maboneng Precinct.  I am really looking forward to seeing it.  I won't be around on the 1st but will make a little trip when I am back.  Good luck girl.  Check out the website here 

IN OTHER NEWS

Top Shop is going to have a pop up shop in Cape Town from 12 July to sometime in October.  I think they are dipping their toes in our waters to see if they have a sustainable enough market to open a real store.  Thanks Zara.  As a local retailer I can't say I'm thrilled about this because it means more competition, but competing leads to ruffled feathers, which inevitably begets growth.  I do hope though that they don't get any ideas about coming to where the real money is at, Joburg.  

COUNTING THE DAYS

It appears that it is no longer apparent that Little Dragon is coming to South Africa.  The band recently confirmed via Twitter that they will be in Cape Town on 31August and Johannesburg on Saturday 1 September Twenty Twelve.  Since the announcement of this news, I have noticed a new pattern in my breathing, it is accelerated.  I worry about it on the 30th of August.  I wonder where they will play in Joburg.  And when the tickets go on sale.  

CINHTE MAGAZINE

I reblogged this shoot from a new website I discovered while surfing.  The website belongs to Cinhte Magazine.  I'm not too sure how that is pronounced.  I wish I could find a physical copy of it.  It's rare to see a high fashion and culture magazine void of white people, not to be political or anything, just saying.  Anyway,  I liked this shoot of really hot model Amira Ahmed for Mexican Nylon.  I especially like the candy floss backdrop and the white boots.  Actually all of these utility come fashion shoes.
